Day 277 - Hair, hair everywhere!

I'm sure you already know... I'm a hippie. As such, I would like if my wedding would reflect on my style as much as possible while still allowing for me to be a tad bit of a princess too.

Today I browsed hairstyles. I can't decide on exactly what I want done, however, I seem to have gathered quite the collection of similar samples to work with.

smaller flowers, and daisies instead of roses
love the tossed look to this

Day 276 - Fun ideas!

I seem to just be running around gathering ideas lately. Mostly fun things for the guests and photography areas.
This one idea popped up on pinterest and although I don't yet have an account I snatched the photo.
The idea is a scavenger hunt for your guests, I very well may do this.

Day 92 - One bride to another

Attended a childhood friend's wedding today. I felt a bit like I was one of the nice guests from 4 weddings.  I have attended weddings in the past but never as a bride-to-be. I was watching every event and piece of decor with an eye for detail this time. What will be remembered as a guest, what is needed what isn't etc. Her wedding was beautiful and I think my favorite part was the little vegetarian labels. More on a personal level and made me giggle. I held that sign with great pride, "HEY EVERYONE I'M A VEGETARIAN!"
What was extra touching was that the bride's mother was the one to bring the labels to my attention. She took me aside and said, "By the way, in the other room are labels for vegetarians. You'll want to grab one for your table so you get the right meal."
The wedding was beautiful and the bride even more beautiful. I gathered lots of ideas and confirmed all others. I also felt fab in my new knit dress that fit me snug. Especially since all week I had been dancing around to "all you need is love" and sweat out more lbs. I'm now down 20.1. Look out butt, you're next!

Day 57 - Could this be the dress?

Tired of not doing any active wedding planning I jumped into the book David had been given as a christmas present. While flipping through I came across a Maggie Sottero dress I positively loved! A nice tea length dress. I wonder if it's within my budget? It wasn't the dress that David's co-workers thought he'd look great in though. I hate this waiting game. I don't want to start looking for a dress until I am the right weight. I wish I was the right weight now! 16.8 lbs down a little less than 30 lbs to go. I'll get there in time. Saving money while I work on it.

Day 47 - A flower by any other name...

I am more than a little terrified to start looking at flower prices. I know that will be horrendously expensive. I keep convincing myself that because Gerbera Daisies are in season in July and that I am not having roses that I will be saving myself a bundle. But the budget in me screams, "You're going to spend how much on something that is already dead, won't last that long and will not be saved forever?" It's like spending hundreds of dollars on a make-over. Pretty for the pictures but only lasts one day. I want my flowers to be picture perfect but not at a huge cost.
Now whenever I am at my local grocer I seem to always be pricing their flowers and looking for gerbera's in my color. If I were brave enough I would simply go grocery shopping the day or two before the wedding, grab up a bunch of gerbera daisies and make my bouquets. Problem with that of course is the risk that they wouldn't have enough or the right colors or both.
What to do, what to do!
On a more positive note, I have now surpassed the 10 lbs lost mark and am headed colorfully towards the 15 lbs lost. Sitting nicely at 14 lbs lost. Almost halfway there!

Day 23 - We'll get there in time

Well if I ignore the direct results with the wedding I can feel slightly productive. It can be so frustrating to know what you need and not be able to get it yet. I can't control our income but I can control our output and my weight and so I have focused on that.
I've began to tighten those budget strings. I'm doing it slowly because I know if I go too fast we'll only fall back and go further in debt or at least back to square one. This week we have cut up and canceled (completely paid for) 3 credit cards! That felt great! Still a way to go but it's a start.
I've also been very active and consistent with my fitness pal and have lost another 2.1 lbs. Even with David's christmas potluck today and my friends daughter's birthday party I managed to stay under my calorie goal for the day. Strong will and determination will get me there.
For a laugh David received a bridal magazine for his christmas present from work. He was given a gift card too but I loved the bridal magazine gift. There was a little post it stuck in it that said, "David I think you'll look good in this one."
Of course I was excited to get home and look through that magazine for inspiration. :) But I'm the bride, of course I'm supposed to be excited to flip through thousands of pictures of dresses that mostly look identical!
There was a little part of me that said, "wouldn't it be funny if I ended up in the dress the co-worker had quickly and likely blindly stuck a post-it to?" but of course the dress selected was not the dress I was looking for.
