Day 511 - HOLY MOLY!

This week I've hunkered down hard on the wedding to do list. I finished paying for David's ring today, I bought my wedding dress lingerie yesterday, I've been finishing up my DIY list and sent out the last of the invites. I am also tieing down all those extra details that aren't physical.

As I did all this I realized today marks 101 days before our wedding meaning that this Sunday we hit the double digits! OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! I don't even know how I feel about that!

A year of planning behind us we have been engaged now for 365 days and only 246 to go! WOW! I love my fiancé more each and every day. It's been an amazing birthday and now to call it a night and rest myself for more planning for the next 246 days! :)

Day 315 - Milestone moment!

Not really progress update but I realized today that there are now more days behind us than ahead!! We've been engaged for 315 days and only have 297 days until our wedding. We are 51% there! That is incredibly exciting....at least for me it is.

Day 307 - PARTY IN THE HIZOUSE!

I am so completely excited for tomorrow. It will be the first real celebration of our engagement since the brunch the morning after with friends! So excited am I that I have been blasting the sunshine pop and hippie tunes while preparing! Only the engagement part of the century!! or year...whateves!

And what's even better is it lands on Hug a Vegetarian day this year! So hip hip horray for this veg bride-to-be :)

I'm going to go sing now.

♥ ☮ ♫"Hello lamppost, What cha knowing? I've come to watch your flowers growing. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in' doo-doo, Feelin' groovy." ☮♫ ♥

Day 294 - Bridal fugly!

Our engagement party is coming up, the theme is bridal fugly. As a result I spent the entire day with one of my bridesmaids trying to find the perfect fugly wedding dress!
Here is what didn't make the cut.

She vants to bite your neck! Honestly one of the itchiest and plainest ugly dresses ever

"All we are saying, is give peace a chance!"

well hello there....welcome to the 70's

Not terrible but I didn't need shoes since I'd be a barefoot hippie all day.

THIS was the dress I wanted...however my bosom once blossomed too much!
You'll have to wait to see what made the cut. But that last dress... oh it broke my heart to leave it behind, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for!

Day 207 - Venue with tears

After the heartbreak of last week we walked into the venue hubby-to-be had selected and found THE VENUE!
I am not going to post any photos as we are sure this will be our wedding venue and therefore a surprise to the guests.
It was not the curvature of the earth, I don't think visually anything can truly compare to that particular venue. But it was much more personal and warm. When we went to the room where the reception would be located we saw there on the wall a painted portrait of the hill where we have our annual photograph taken overlooking the city. I choke up immediately and hubby-to-be silently smiled.
We told the story to the co-ordinator who then herself choked up. You know you have the right venue when not only do you choke up but you make the event organizer tear up.
All we have to do now is review the contract, set aside enough money for the deposit and we're golden.

Day 134 - And the dress is mine.

Today I made the first payment on my wedding dress. With 30lbs down and 20 more to go I'm a little nervous. But the bridal consultant feels I should still fit even if I do lose another 20 lbs.

But having my purchase made I spent the rest of the day in the judges chair playing simon while my sister tried on nearly 2 dozen dresses for my approval.

When she saw how many dresses there were she was shocked. Of course not all of them were legit we did have to have some fun with her and shoved some lemons in the pile. Just had to make sure she'd be honest to the bride if she didn't approve. She was!
