Day 299 - Gift registries galore

I have a love hate relationship with gift registries. I love that they give people ideas of what to buy you if they are wanting to get you something. I hate that they might make guests feel like they have to buy something or even have to buy something from that registry or that store. However, I am making a list because there are more people that want a list than there are people who might be offended, and those who are offended can either tell me they are offended or deal with it. Right?

I have resolved the issues with my gift registry. Thanks to my best man letting me know. Apparently the sources page was changed and I needed to adjust accordingly.

Of course David and I need to sit down and look at the other registry. Perhaps even go into the store for an official scanning of objects.

But until then, the gift registry is back up and operational.

Oh....and by the way... SPARKLE SPARKLE!!! Picked up my resized wedding set today. All ready for the engagment party, <3 your hippie bride.

Day 85 - Hippie Bride for sure

Today my bridesmaid, Jenny, and I went in to start up my registry. If I had a registry at this location before a certain date I'd get a set of flutes for free. $15 value. So why not. I was supposed to go in to the other to get a free $25 gift card for their store but we didn't make it in before they were closed. But there is always next year.

While we were talking to the registry representative he looked at me and said, "Flowerchild/hippie?" I opened my eyes and said, "yeah. that's what I'm going for." he said, "I'm getting that vibe from you." I laughed but later said to my friend, "really? how?" It's not like I was standing their in a tunic with daisies in my hair or anything. I was dressed quite conservatively with my long hair pulled into a ponytail. I guess I just scream hippie. Maybe it was different things I was talking about. I don't think I mentioned the environment or animal rights. But there must have been something in my tone that screamed, "I'm a hippie and proud of it!"

Then Jenny and I ran around the store scanning anything and everything that I would want. We treated it like a shopping spree with infinite possibilities. If I was allowed to load a truck up with anything and not have to pay a cent what would I take. I'll take one of these *beep* and two of these *beep* *beep* and if these didn't work out I would just bring them back *beep*.

Day 66 - Inspired after the showcase

I am really worried about not getting people booked in time. Looking at the budget, punching in the numbers and thinking that this is going to work. I have to book the venue in April then get married over a year later. Sure I can do it. I found the perfect song for the bridal party to walk down the aisle to so I've been having luck with the musical side of things.
I have a coupon for a free pearl necklace if I throw a jewelry party. I am curious if any of my friends are actually interested in something like that. But there are a lot of useful coupons from the other night as well. So still totally worth it both mentally, emotionally and financially.
As for productivity? I sent off the wedding planning e-mails, updated a wedding registry with bed bath and beyond, researched wedding venue options and now I'm going to wedding pla--...bed.
